Two separate subscriptions
Hims currently separates its Weight Loss Membership from any Medication Plan. The membership costs $39 for the first month and automatically renews at $149 per month. Medication is not included and a prescription is not guaranteed.
If a provider prescribes a product and the customer fills it through a Hims-facilitated pharmacy, the medication may have its own automatically renewing monthly or multi-month plan. This means there can be two different charges and two different renewal settings.
What the membership includes
Hims’ current terms describe:
- an initial telehealth medical evaluation;
- routine clinical check-ins;
- visits for medication or dose adjustments when needed;
- unlimited provider messaging;
- care-team support;
- access to a private weight-loss community;
- in-app tracking and related support tools.
The membership is not comprehensive primary care and is not health insurance. An independent provider determines eligibility and prescribing.
Advertised medication starting prices
The Hims pages reviewed on August 25, 2026 advertised a broad FDA-approved GLP-1 lineup. Examples of displayed medication-only starting prices included:
| Medication | Advertised starting price | Important context |
|---|---|---|
| Wegovy pill | From $149/month | Membership charged separately |
| Foundayo | From $149/month | Membership charged separately |
| Wegovy pen | From $199/month | Dose and plan can change the amount |
| Zepbound KwikPen or vial | From $299/month | Product and dose matter |
| Ozempic pill | From $149/month | Ozempic is approved for type 2 diabetes |
| Ozempic injection | From $199/month | Off-label weight use requires provider judgment |
Starting prices are not a quote for every customer. The checkout may charge a medication plan monthly or upfront, and Hims states that a particular product or pricing structure is not guaranteed to remain available.
Add the $149 recurring membership to the medication amount when estimating the ongoing cash cost. A $149 medication and a $149 membership are separate charges.
FDA-approved and compounded paths
Hims has shifted its public weight-loss offering toward FDA-approved products. Its corporate statements also describe limited access to compounded semaglutide only when an independent provider considers a compounded product clinically necessary for needs that commercially available FDA-approved options cannot meet.
That limited statement is not evidence of general compounded availability, a standard compounded price, or a guarantee. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved.
Insurance and FSA/HSA
The program is presented as self-pay and does not require insurance. Hims says the medication fee may be eligible for FSA/HSA reimbursement depending on the plan, while the Weight Loss Membership fee is not FSA/HSA eligible. FSA/HSA eligibility is not insurance coverage or a guaranteed reimbursement.
Renewal and cancellation
The membership automatically renews until cancelled. A Medication Plan also renews until cancelled or changed by the provider. Hims’ FAQ says cancelling the membership also cancels an active medication plan and access to care, while cancelling only the medication does not cancel the membership.
Because those controls are separate, confirm both subscription states in the account. Hims also warns that some renewal charges or shipments may be processed slightly early for operational continuity.
What to verify before paying
- The exact prescribed medication and dose.
- Whether the medication amount is monthly or prepaid upfront.
- The combined membership and medication total.
- The next renewal date for each plan.
- Current treatment availability in your state.
- Whether an FSA/HSA administrator will reimburse the medication charge.
- That both subscriptions are cancelled if you intend to stop the full service.
Weight Care Index does not use Hims’ projected weight-loss claims to predict an individual’s result.
